It is home to\u00a0<strong data-start=\"585\" data-end=\"636\">eight of the world\u2019s fourteen highest mountains<\/strong>, while its lowest elevation lies just\u00a0<strong data-start=\"675\" data-end=\"711\">around 60 meters above sea level<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"714\" data-end=\"1192\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Despite its natural beauty,\u00a0<strong data-start=\"742\" data-end=\"797\">Nepal continues to face deep development challenges<\/strong>. Classified as a\u00a0<strong data-start=\"815\" data-end=\"842\">least developed country<\/strong>, Nepal has made progress in recent years, yet\u00a0<strong data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"961\">around one in five people still live below the national poverty line<\/strong>, and many more remain vulnerable to economic shocks, climate disasters, and inequality. Poverty is especially concentrated among children, rural communities, marginalized ethnic groups, and those living in remote mountain regions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1194\" data-end=\"1638\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Although Nepal\u2019s 2006 Comprehensive Peace Accord promised equality, justice, and inclusion,\u00a0<strong data-start=\"1286\" data-end=\"1325\">many commitments remain unfulfilled<\/strong>. Structural discrimination, limited access to education and healthcare, and unresolved human rights issues continue to affect large segments of the population. Unequal distribution of resources and limited accountability have slowed inclusive development, leaving many children excluded from basic opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1640\" data-end=\"1918\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong data-start=\"1640\" data-end=\"1681\">Children are among the most affected.<\/strong><\/span><br data-start=\"1681\" data-end=\"1684\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Economic hardship, lack of awareness, geographic isolation, and recurring natural disasters\u2014such as earthquakes, floods, and landslides\u2014continue to prevent thousands of children from attending school and reaching their full potential.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1920\" data-end=\"2342\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong data-start=\"1920\" data-end=\"1951\">Helping Friends Nepal (HFN)<\/strong>\u00a0is dedicated to changing this reality.<\/span><br data-start=\"1990\" data-end=\"1993\" \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">HFN works to create a supportive community environment where disadvantaged children can access education and essential resources.
